Not quite calibrated

It has a capacitive sensor and when it arrived it was within 1%. Unfortunately it's not really possible to calibrate it, with only one knob it should only adjust offset (so tilt isn't adjustable). 445715 calibrates correctly.

NOT EXACT - EXCESSIVE PERFORMANCE!

.Trash. This product/model is a complete ad.! This is the second model I have purchased from EXTECH and am not satisfied. This seller has many videos online e.g. B. to calibrate / adjust a moisture meter, but the footage is intended to be shown. Calibration is NOT intended for the average person. We will NEVER use EXTECH products again.

Pros
  • Quality Construction
Cons
  • Easy Maintainability

Waste of time and money

Waste of time and money. Both original and replacement units come uncalibrated, which I didn't understand. Now I know it's because you can't 'calibrate' the humidity. nothing goes up or down. However, you can easily regulate the temperature. Fortunately, I have several other reliable devices to compare. The company recommends using their $60 calibration kit. Device and will avoid this brand in the future

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Very accurate hygrometer

I find this Extech hygrometer to be a very accurate device. I see a lot of negative feedback about its calibration, but I feel that the user is not using the correct tuning technique to calibrate this device. The humidity calibration knob is used to set the upper limit of the range. Place the sensor in a known 100% humidity environment. To do this, I placed a damp paper towel on the bottom of the jar, then pushed the sensor up into the jar and sealed the jar with tape. At constant room…

Seems to work

I bought this to check the temperature and humidity in my attic. Since I don't have access to a lab calibration system to verify accuracy, I have to assume it's reading correctly. I tried setting the temperature based on another thermometer and it wasn't as "adjustable" as I thought it would be. It doesn't offer the accuracy I would have expected given its price, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. But the display is large and easy to read. I don't plan on using the notification, I'll…

Not the best device for moisture meter

Bought because I already had Extech and Extech 445580 calibration pots, both of which were positive purchases. As with 445580, it is not calibrated. Ironically, the humidity calibration screw on the back seemed to have a dubious effect. While the temperature calibration screw definitely worked, the humidity screw didn't really seem to do anything, even after being twisted and twisted waaaaaa more than the manual says. Like it's just for show. He's currently working as a controller in a client's

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Battery contact is a fatal error

While I can't vouch for the accuracy, we were very pleased until we had to replace the batteries, just after the one-year warranty expired. At first I thought something was wrong with my brand new batteries as the device would not turn on. Eventually I realized that the problem was with the + contact of one of the batteries. As you can see in the photo, one of the batteries has a typical positive contact, while the other has a thin spring (like the negative one, but smaller) and it's almost…

Perfect indicator - humidifier parts and accessories

Bought this device to monitor the humidity levels in our closets and dressing rooms around our home. Some rooms in our home have more mold than others. Took comparative measurements from different rooms and toilets. Tried heater rods in toilets to see if they help lower relative humidity. Tried running the central air conditioning in one of the bedrooms in DRY mode to see if the air conditioning was working to reduce the relative humidity (RH) and it was working. I like the large digital…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Inaccurate, humidity reading cannot be adjusted

My Extech hygrometer 445815 is not accurate. I ran this meter through a standard salt moisture test prior to use. I tested it along with several other hygrometers I had on hand. The salt test produces a stable known humidity in an airtight container. An accurate hygrometer should read 75% relative humidity. My Extech 445815 only got 68%. This surprised me, so I repeated the test and tried to find bugs in my testing methodology. Every time 445815 read 68%. So my device shows 7% less. A low value

Pros
  • Annual trial
Cons
  • Not the best
