We grow herbs indoors with plant lamps. I've had issues with lighting that either doesn't last long or just doesn't provide the right light and type. I figured this would help me finally find one that works right and be able to make sure it stays right. Well I've decided on a new grow light and unbeknownst to me I can make sure it won't fail. , but my usage is much simpler than this thing. Easy and quick to use, very small and portable

First of all, I can be, uh, inattentive sometimes. I don't usually read the instructions first. Just dive in. The battery cover is held in place by a locking mechanism that requires a push of a button to open. I didn't notice the button and couldn't move the door. Finally I opened it with a screwdriver. *Then* I noticed a button. Nothing was damaged except my pride, which testifies to the strength of the doorbolt. WHY you need a lock, no idea. I have a couple of UV-A/B meters including one…

Not a UV index meter but works

This meter works. However, the strength of the reading is highly dependent on the angle at which you point the detector at the light source. I suspect it's because the design uses some sort of color filter. Changing the angle of the filter can shift the frequency/range of light entering the filter, so you'll need to move the meter around to get an idea of how strong the UV light from its source might be. It is important to note that this is not and cannot be equated with a UV index meter as the
