Great Transfer Device!

I ordered this transfer belt to assist me in transferring my disabled mother who needs help from time to time, as she has just moved in with us. In instances before, someone would always end up hurt because there was nothing for us to use to transfer her besides hooking under her arms, but now we have this posey transfer belt on hand and it works great! Might work for some, but not for me.

I am a 5'4" woman who is 130 lb. and I'm wheelchair bound. My caregivers use a gait belt constantly to move me around, particularly to get me in and out of bed, and also in and out of My wheelchair. This belt is sturdy and wide, obviously designed for someone larger than me. At its smallest adjustment, it was still loose around my waist, making it unsafe to use when transferring me. Invaluable tool for elder care

This transfer/gait belt came in the knick of time. My 94 year old dad took a minor spill the day after it was delivered, so I got to try it out immediately.I have been using a plain 2 inch wide gait strap to assist getting him up from the floor from his occassional falls, but I'm always hesitant; I feel like I'm hurting him with the narrow fabric pressing into his skin.
