Easy to install. I bought 2 of these to put up and down stairs. I liked them so much I bought 2 more to block the playground. They are strong enough for my child to resist and not enough for them to drop.

I went crazy trying to find something for my metal railings because they are so thin. I tried this and am so happy I did. I read someone's review about adding zip ties to hold it in place and it worked! (I bought the thickest zippers I could find and then put the included Velcro on top.) The holes in the wood made it all possible, I wouldn't recommend it as I saw I was just getting a regular piece of wood. This is a great addition as I've been using 2x4. It wasn't very durable because it didn't have Velcro. Love it and it comes with a pad that fits against your railing so it doesn't get ruined so we didn't want to screw anything into it. It works like a charm and my gate is very strong. However, I didn't account for the ground and the metal clip doesn't stay straight due to the angle I had to attach the strap. Great concept. We paired the top of our stairs with Cardinal Gates Stair Top Gates (which is awesome). Had to order twice because I didn't even realize our stair railings aren't a standard 36" height. 42" fits a lot better, but I almost wish there was an extra layer of security alongside the velcro straps. Bought two of these to use at the top of the stairs from banister to banister (Evenflo Secure Step Hardware Mount metal gate). My railing is slightly offset, so I need these boards to stay on the edges, not right in the middle of the railing's vertical centerline.
