    !Glue is very weak! Untenable.

    Glue is less sticky than a postal note. This is totally unacceptable. Duct tape has a stronger adhesive than this material. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and Revane will send me another. If the next one is just as bad I'll either go back and get another one or buy some high temp glue to stick it on. I now recommend avoiding this product. Update: I exchanged it for a new one. The new one doesn't stick either. I tried to use regardless. It stayed in place but now after 3 months it is…

    In the past I've used everything from "professional" putty to cast iron mantels for my smokers, all with different "I's". Skip everything and just buy it. I used an oscillating sander with a 100 grit attachment to remove the old, rotten gasket and glue, rubbed the edge with a tack cloth and cemented the material in place.     This is great and very easy to install. I have an Old Country Brazos Smoker/Grill (love it) and use a gasket around the firebox and oven doors to make a very tight seal around the doors. This product is 1" wide and 1/8" thick. It was perfect and now there is no smoke/heat loss.     Perhaps you take good care of your grill by unfurling it when not in use or by leaving it covered all the time. Like most people, I take good care of my grill, but I don't overdo it. It's raining. I wash the pollen in spring. However, I also like to keep it in good condition. Perhaps this spacer would work better as your grill wore out, but for me it wasn't. Installation was pretty easy if you can think fast and not just rip stuff off the adhesive and wonder what happened (when you look at how you left 1 star reviews).
