FloodGuard Pump Control and Alarm System Review

Worked as a replacement. Easy installation. Pretty expensive for what it does. For the price, I considered replacing the entire pump. Too lazy to glue PVC.

So good I bought a second one when I upgraded my other drain pump. Works great, no issues with sticky floats and nice to have a high water alarm.

I wish there was more space between turning the pump on and off. This is a better setup than the old control switch I had with an adjustable timer that had to be adjusted based on the flow rate.

Well made block. But unfortunately it didn't meet my requirements so I had to send it back. No hassle with that. As a result, the pump could not run long enough. I bought another device there that better suits my purpose.

Not suitable for waste water pumps. It picks up toilet paper and other debris that builds up on the sensors, giving false readings to start the pump or keep the pump running after the water has gone down. I replaced it with a float switch and now everything works fine.

I bought this pump controller to replace a previous Floodfree unit. This unit had been in service for maybe eight years or more and was still working but the high water alarm sounded wrong. Order taking into account the consequences of refusal. This new pump controller was installed here in Chicagoland (and elsewhere) in late April 2013 hours before heavy rains fell.
