I have an old standard toilet. The valve is 2 inches, so the part is fine. But the damper handles are too short, so the damper can't fully close on the valve and the water just spills out again. The leak is also not small - the water drains very quickly. I even tried to cut a ring out of it, but the problem lies in the short shoulders. Oh well, glad it was only a dollar!

Cut off the o-ring if using hinged ear mounts or it will interfere with the damper. Replaced the damper in my toilet. I couldn't balance. It closed too quickly. I replaced the heavy metal chain with an old plastic chain that actually floats in the water. The plastic chain itself floats (additional buoyancy). It brought me very close to my goal.
