I had to cut an access hole in the wall of the stairs because the tub spout was frozen and unscrewed. I've decided that there should be access in case some other problem arises. It doesn't fit the wall as tightly as I'd like, but there's always a trade-off. Nicely drawn but visible. I recommend this product if you want to cover the access area with drywall.

Garage and access might be needed for future repairs, I didn't want to mess with drywall repairs. Installation was relatively easy after I trimmed the hole. I think the plastic looks cheap and I don't want it to be displayed in a room in my house, but it met the needs of my application.

I ordered the 8x8 version but it's not the right size. Internal Dimensions - Actual hole size is 7.75" x 7.75" and external dimensions are 9.125" x 9.25" (not square). So this only really works if you have an entire wall without a frame. Be careful if you have a frame, tubing, or other items that require you to thread your needle.
