Almost the right fit.

Bought for my 10 gallon tank which was moved from a fish tank to a crested gecko, it fits the tank but is a bit loose around the edges so I had to get 4 cage clamps to hold it to attach firmly to the tank. I definitely felt it should be safer because my bastard likes to spend a lot of time relaxing on the edge of the tank and I don't want him to get off. Nice and strong overall, only the hair is too big so I would recommend using cage clips for most types.

Slightly curved

Got a 24x12 as a lid for my 20 gallon aquarium. It arrived a bit bent in a few places so one of the corners doesn't fit in the tank but I use it for fish so I don't really care. However, for something that can climb and run away, I see this as a problem. The metal is quite strong so it's hard to bend it back into place, but I'm pretty sure it can be bent back. While this is great for me as the bend gives me room to run wires and tubing, I'll rate it 3/5 stars for reptile owners.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

They are durable and come in so many sizes that any tank, even an old 1940's metaframe with a slate bottom, can be fitted with one of these caps. , or a night lamp from above without the risk of fire. The metal resists the teeth of hamsters and rats. All sorts of clips are sold to fit the plastic frames of modern tanks, so it will be a bit difficult for small animals to lift the lid to escape and embark on a nighttime adventure. The lids'…
