Will not fit 1996 Deville

Description states this part would fit a 1996 Cadillac Deville, but the flywheel is approximately 1/4 inch larger in diameter - too big to fit through the housing. part returned.

Don't buy this

didn't work. I installed it in my car and it didn't work. didn't even try to turn it on. The old one worked but was weak. So I know it's not a problem with the car. I would not recommend buying this engine.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Good but not great

Doesn't match the pictures!

Not what is shown and not what is described. Extremely difficult to glue if you don't know what you are doing. Don't do this if you don't know how to pull the dog bones forward and take them apart, put them down, then reassemble them in the car. No fun at all on the '96 El Dorado!

Don't waste your time and money

Don't waste your time and money. If it were possible I would give zero stars. This part doesn't split in two like the original, so you'll have to remove the valve cover or drop the engine to put it back. After installation, it will switch between medium and high speed. After 90 days it stopped completely. This part isn't even worth a warranty.

Not as advertised, don't waste your money!

As others say it is not the same as in the photo, the fan itself is about half the size of the original and common sense dictates that once installed there is not a tight volume supplied by the outlets, although it will be a bolt and plug fit plan on returning this item and advise everyone not to waste time and money in the future. It should be removed from Revain.

Something like the work of the fan motor

The fan is VERY difficult to install - would be easier if the squirrel cage was removed. The fan is also a little louder than the stock one - it's really loud when you first start it up. Speed control isn't the same as a standard fan either - you have to set the speed manually - 'automatic' settings show up as 'medium' rather than being changed as needed like a standard fan. If I had to do it again I would try delco.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Minor issues

Great replacement at less than half the cost of the original equipment.

Installed this unit to replace a failed A/C fan on a '96 Cadillac Deville. After we tipped the engine (it's an easy process if you find out how on the Cadillac Owners Forum) this unit has been running great for 3 months now. Easy to connect, it just plugs into the same connector as the old motor. Maybe a little louder than the original, but not by much. Very satisfied so far!

97 Caddy Deville Fit for Parts

The easiest way to install this is to remove the coil packs on the rear valve cover and if you have a lift like me then bolt the chassis away. Screw one at a time on the back and tighten about 3 turns (2 on each side, 18mm hex head), loosen the 2 front a bit to make the back deeper. You then have sufficient access to remove the existing assembly and reinstall it. Follow the included instructions as they are well written in the field regarding the timing of the new fan. The fan I removed was…

Does not replace OEM.

The original fan motor on my '95 Cadillac DeVille (4.9) failed - in the dead of winter of course - so I bought it hoping to avoid paying more than $255 for an OEM replacement. Well it worked. It took a few minutes to turn on after the machine started, and it stayed at the set speed even if you tried to change it while the fan was running. If I had the fan set to high at startup, it would not switch to low or turn itself off. In fact, it continued to work after I turned off the device. It at…
