24 Inch Clear Franklin Brass Replacement Towel Bar, Bathroom Accessories, Bathroom Towel Holder, Model 662318 Review

This is a fairly light hollow plank (as you would expect for the price). The cropping instructions were a bit vague. The first time I cut it too long so I couldn't fit; then I read the instructions again, measured again and then cut too short. It fits but doesn't look as good as it could (and not as tight as it could be). But it's so cheap that (at some point) I'll just order another one.

The replacement heated towel holder is very easy to install. I bought a 24" rod because the distance between the brackets was just over 18". I measured the required length at about 1 inch across the distance between the brackets. The replacement was easy to cut with a small saw. I reinserted the spring-loaded end and snapped the rod into place. The bar is strong enough to work but is falling apart except for what I replaced. If the bar was a little stronger I would give it 5 stars.

If I installed it the way I intended it would fit well. Instead, I turned my brain off and blindly followed the instructions that came with it, and when I went to install it after cutting it out, it was too short. If you look at the included instructions, you will see how it happened. What you need to do is insert a rod into one end THEN mark the rod 1/8" smaller than the other end. Not very thick plastic so a little flimsy in my opinion. I'm not sure you have a better choice and I would buy it again. The guide is wrong, IMO. I'm not sure why they would tell you to cut it shorter than the distance between the two holders. The plastic bar can go more than 1/4" into the bracket, so I cut mine about 3/8" longer than the distance between the brackets. I then put on the sprung ends and the bar snapped into place perfectly. The description is very confusing and based on the reviews I've read I guess you're lucky. The molding is clearly made of transparent plastic; perhaps the mold in which it was cast was zinc. Measurements are just wrong. The text states that the section is 0.8 x 0.8 inches and the dimensions in the chart are 0.63 x 0.63 inches. Although I thought it would be stiffer if it was, I wouldn't be able to heat the rod with HOT WATER enough to bend it just enough to insert without having to cut the ends.
