I have used many of Freud's tips in the past, but this one must have been a black sheep. While carving a dovetail out of soft maple, the blade came off the tang.

Don't waste your time on the cheaper $10 or $12 versions. I started with those. They're okay, but they burn your wood and don't stay as sharp. Save yourself the headache and big brand names.

The bits are, as expected, high quality steel with a nice cut. Certainly better than multiple passes with an undersized drill bit or a loose tenon when cutting plywood. The case is attractive but poorly designed. Two tiny screws hold the bit block in the housing and should make turning easier. Mine arrived broken but I didn't purchase a case kit. The beats themselves are five stars.
