Construction of a mahogany pergola. I needed a Forstner bit to drill some flat bottomed holes in my construction screw gussets. I wanted a nice clean hole and it had to be 3 inches deep. To be honest, I was very skeptical about the extra charge for Freud Forstner tips. I've been using a Porter Cable Kit for years, which costs a lot less, and have been quite happy with the results.
