Great Tele: Camera & Photo

Sharp for a teleconverter, but at 50-140mm not as sharp as the native Fuji 100-400 at the same focal length. It's not a negative in my opinion because if you need 2X it does the job. Subjectively, I feel it's noticeably sharper than any Canon TC.

Pros
  • Nicely
Cons
  • Style 90

Adds freedom and softness

Slightly soft. i won't lie It's very difficult to get a clear picture with this teleconverter and Superzoom 100-400. If you really need range, do it, but be aware that the photos you get will be a bit soft. Also, the maximum aperture is f/11, who cares.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Quality

Excellent telephoto lens for the Fuji XF 50-140 zoom lens.

A great complement to the Fuji 50-140 zoom lens. I considered 1.4 but many reviews have said 2.0 is great for this lens (not so good with 100-400 where 1.4 was recommended). In the short time I've had this lens and Telekombo I'm very impressed. Note that this increases the aperture by two stops, from f/2.8 to f/5.6.

  • Confident

Excellent glass the best camera lenses

I've thought long and hard about adding a Fujinon 100-400 lens to my kit but decided to try this vehicle out first. I've only shot with it a few times, but I've found the image quality to be just as good as the 55-140 it works with. It really allows me to touch and take a picture. You lose a few stops, so you have to be careful what kind of lighting you use it in.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Functionality

1200mm reach now possible

Fuji, you are dying to develop an amazing and complete system in less than 5 years. This is another great addition to the lineup and I hope it signals more lenses that Fuji's TC can use. This is an excellent little converter that really takes the Fuji 100-400mm to an exceptional level. I found that the autofocus works quite well with this combination and the range is excellent.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Not the best

I used it with XF70-300mm F4-5.6 on X-S10. Amazing range and sharpness. Continuous autofocus with a back button is fast and tracks shy birds and squirrels well. At 300mm the maximum aperture is of course f/11, but image stabilization in the body and lens stays over 5 stops and the high ISO performance is really good. Hand-held flares from moon shots are smooth, crisp, and add up to excellent ultra-high-resolution images. Close-up focus magnification also doubles, of course, and macro background

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • something different

Worth the price if you have a Fujifilm zoom lens that supports it!

I already have a Fujifilm 1.4X teleconverter and use it with the XF50-140mm. I was hesitant to invest 2.0x, wondering if the extra raise over 1.4x would be worth it. I also read that 2.0X degrades image quality compared to 1.4X. If 2.0X vs 1.4X degrades the image quality, I think you should be one of those guys doing the "Brick Wall" image quality test with a tripod. After getting used to working with 2.0X on my XPro-3 for a few days, I was very happy with my XF50-140mm F2.8 lens. I use a Gariz

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • High price
