I used it with XF70-300mm F4-5.6 on X-S10. Amazing range and sharpness. Continuous autofocus with a back button is fast and tracks shy birds and squirrels well. At 300mm the maximum aperture is of course f/11, but image stabilization in the body and lens stays over 5 stops and the high ISO performance is really good. Hand-held flares from moon shots are smooth, crisp, and add up to excellent ultra-high-resolution images. Close-up focus magnification also doubles, of course, and macro background blur is still nicely blurred at f/11 or even smaller apertures. The XF70-300mm has onion ring bokeh highlights, while the 2X adds off-center dimples that will annoy some urban night photographers. For wildlife, a wide aperture isolates subjects very well from blurred backgrounds with no visible artifacts.
