Stay away, you'll need to replace soon if you buy it

I did hours upon hours of research on this before buying it. Literally. I spent days looking through all my options on different websites, blogs, YouTube reviews and opinions/advice and then finally decided on this. I saw the beaming reviews on this and was convinced this was the best option. I also saw the criticisms. I was aware that I was getting a budget mess kit, not an MSR kit. I still had high hopes. Obviously, this is made from basic materials, but it definitely gets the job done. It's…

Pros
  • The lightweight construction of this mess kit makes it easy to carry and transport, even on longer trips
Cons
  • The set is not very heat-resistant, and can melt or warp if exposed to high temperatures or flame

You don't need these

My rating is not a quality issue, it's a functionality problem. From my experience these pots are just fine, just as described. They nest nicely and are not bulky in a backpack. It wasn't until my first trip out with them that I realized how big a waste they are.I had always been a car camper, so when I got into backpacking I wanted a compact set of pots that provided versatility first and foremost. Problem is you simply don't need versatility when camping. Mostly you need to just boil water…

Pros
  • The included lid ensures that food cooks evenly and stays warm until it's time to eat
Cons
  • The set is not very beginner-friendly, and may be difficult to use for those who lack cooking experience

This set was not at all what I was expecting. I did a lot of review look up to find something for my backpacking trips. I got these based on many different site reviews stating it was a great kit. revain had many good reviews as well. I've taken this out one multiple trips now. Before I got this, I purchased the Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set 24oz Stainless Steel cook-set I'd like to compare these two. First and most obvious thing is the G4Free set comes with 4 cooking pieces, the Stanley you…

Pros
  • Camping Cookware
Cons
  • The cookware set is a bit difficult to clean, especially if you're trying to maintain the non-stick coating

After 2 weeks' use, all-in-all we will keep using it until we have something better. We used this 2-piece pot set to rehydrate dried meat on an ultralight camp stove while on a camping road trip for two. It works well for that purpose. Rehydrate with some spice, grill veg and other add-ins in a separate pan, then combine in this pot. The lid - more of a 1 cup pot than a "pan" as the description says - fits firmly but not snugly on the larger pot. So it's good to keep in heat to hydrate a camp…

Pros
  • Camping & Hiking
Cons
  • The set doesn't come with any additional utensils, making it difficult to cook and prepare certain foods

A good inexpensive set

Surprisungly well made and the stove started right up. Even the utensils weren't totally cheesey. Can't speak to durability yet, but for the price, will take that risk. Stove boiled water in the small pot very quickly. I bought a dollar store silicone hotpad and cut it in a circle leaving a little flap for a handle to use as a lid or hotpad. The 4 inch steel mug from Walmart for $5 fits perfectly inside, as does a canister of fuel. As others have said, it would be nice if the two pots clamped…

Pros
  • The knife and spoon set are durable and long-lasting, providing a sturdy and reliable tool for your outdoor cooking needs
Cons
  • The set is not very affordable, and may be out of reach for budget-conscious campers

Held up well in Yellowstone and is a decent size/kit

This was my first backpacking/camping cooking kit, and after buying it a few years ago, overall I've really liked it. It's not the highest quality out there, I'm sure, and the utensils are pretty flimsy (one wouldn't stay open, the other literally wouldn't open without some persuasion from a multitool). But the kit as a whole is a great size for storing everything inside of it, and it was the perfect size for our mountain meals. I would throw the larger pot on a jet boiler, and the included…

Pros
  • Outdoor Recreation
Cons
  • The lid for the pot is loose and ill-fitting, leading to spills and messes during cooking

Budget purchase with weight saving and cooking performance!

I just used these on a 3 day, 30 mile hike from the Approach Trail to Suches on the AT. These worked great! They had the graduated marks which made cooking perfect. I used the short pot/lid to reheat grilled chicken for burritos with taco sauce the first night and had no sticking. Boiled meals were simple as well. The set is small, but leaves plenty of room. I was able to store inside, 1 fuel canister, a lighter, 4 hot sauce packs, the included loofa, my stove, a camping mug, MSR salt and pepper

Pros
  • Sports & Outdoors
Cons
  • The handle for the pot is made of cheap plastic, making it prone to breaking or cracking

Love the whole thing

The pans are fantastic. No stick! They fit just fine on top of the burner, and the can fits in the kit. I don't use the silverwear, since I have a spork. I only use wood or bamboo to stir. Best way to make coffee in the am. Don't need the expensive shit. Don't bother. Really.

Pros
  • Open Fire Cookware
Cons
  • The cookware set is quite heavy, making it difficult to lug around on longer camping trips
