Significant improvements for sports and handheld GPS

I already have 2 Garmin devices and wanted to upgrade to a model with lifetime map updates. The thinner and wider screen is perfect, it's big enough to hold and use a touchscreen without being too bulky. I definitely noticed a difference in the response time to the touchscreen, there are no lags on this model and the "recalculation / search for signals" is solved much faster. The only downer is that the volume rocker has moved from a dial on the side of the device to a touchscreen, which…

Pros
  • Included nuMaps lifetime subscription card allows you to download the latest map data up to 4 times a year with no monthly fees or charges
Cons
  • Can I add anything

Very good but .: Handheld GPS

I use Garmin it's affordable keeps me where I need to be but . Only the touch/push button is slow and unresponsive. Other than that, nothing to complain about - Start -> fast about 10 sec - Satellite -> about 10 sec, depending on whether you are in Downtown Chicago/City/large estate it takes a little - Map -> Zoom in if you want to turn, and zoom out when going straight, so cool and useful. - Point of Interest -> I would not recommend using it as in this tough economy many companies

Pros
  • Sleek ultra slim design fits easily in pocket
Cons
  • Too long wait times

Perfect for what we need

I bought my husband a Garmin 1300 for Christmas. We've been using it for 2 weeks now and so far so good. It turns it on even if it's just cruising around town, which is really helpful for showing upcoming trips and allows you to zoom in and out to see the area we're driving through. He found that programming navigation around a city is good, but can give us an alternative route that just doesn't make sense. However, I'm sure it will be necessary if we try to get into areas that we don't know at

Pros
  • Detailed map coverage - Lower 48 States, Hawaii & Puerto Rico
Cons
  • Band

Great GPS for GPS, finders and accessories

This is a great GPS. I did a little research on GPS and decided I needed a lifetime map module as it is more economical. getting one with lifetime cards than buying a new device every few years. We once had a Garmin and it suddenly died (after almost 4.5 years). After considering cost and features, we decided on a different Garmin device as we were very happy with the Garmin we had previously. Furnishings were basic (almost no furnishings). the device was set up and started in a very short time

Pros
  • nüvi 1300 4.3 inch widescreen with nuMaps Lifetime
Cons
  • Reliable
