Gaudia Vite Live Corvus Corax Review

walking through Wacken festival I heard this band called Corvus Corax even though they use bagpipes. You were great. So I bought this DVD and learned a lot more about this band. and it makes me want to buy more cds out there

The video quality is excellent, the angles are interesting, but the sound is terrible! Sometimes you even hear an echo. I think this is partly because the venue where the concert took place is not intended for concerts so the acoustics are terrible. I also think they only used ambient mics for the live recordings and not the good 5 channel mix that is fed from all the other mics. It is sad. After watching Corvus Corax for about 10 years and attending several concerts in Europe, I was thrilled to hear that Noir Records had finally introduced these masters of medieval music to the US. This DVD is an excellent recording of old and new Corvus Corax performances. The Wave Gothic Treffen recordings really capture the amazingly synchronized yet resonant live performances in the grand Agra hall.
