Seals the tarpaulin and no leaks!

I've never used a joint sealer so this was all new to me. I bought sealant for a new hammock cover. I chose to tape the seams of the tarpaulin because the manufacturer recommended it. The whole project turned out to be easier than I expected and turned out great. On my first trip with the new tarp, it rained twice and the tarp was absolutely waterproof. I'm so glad I did. Sealing a tent or tarp seam is a simple task that any DIY enthusiast can complete in half a day.

Make sure you get enough.

Barely enough for a basic 2 man tent. It's very easy to apply, but I found it easier to use my finger than the brush that came with it. If you have a large two-person tent or more, you will need multiple tubes. You also need to be careful not to rub it after it's applied and dried. While I haven't had any issues with it yet, I can see how it can wear down over time with normal wear and tear. However, this prevented water from entering the tent and served its purpose.

Somewhat sticky situation.

I used this product to sew the inside and outside bottom seams of a brand new six man tent. I bought two of these tubes. Before applying, clean and prep the areas with a little rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt or oil. I let the product dry for about 12 hours. Pros: Ease of use. Helps a little. Dries to a clean, glossy texture. Cons: Started to peel off in some places (hence the two stars). completely dry Strong odor (make sure you apply this outdoors or in a room with good…

Creates excellent reinforcement for waterproof seams.

If there were better instructions on how to prepare and use it that would be nice. Not everyone uses YouTube, but they are a source of "how to" information. He has successfully waterproofed five tents for me, usually two tubes per tent. I only use my best tents in high traffic areas, but as they age they will stretch to the seams. I've been using this since my first PCT camping trip and none of my tents have leaked. I've tried this on my backpacks, it's useless to do what's on the inside to rub

Good value - messy to install

Got this to seal the seams of a new Napier minivan tent for my Honda Element. I have to agree with what other sellers have to say about this app - pretty messy. It's just too thick to spread quickly and evenly. I dropped the small brush about halfway through and had to finish the application with my finger, which was easier if not messier. I'm also not sure if things go as far as the manufacturers claim. I used almost all of the tube for my small tent, which is actually more of a canopy for the

Its worth it! Great calm!

I buy a second time. The first time I was at the festival over the weekend with a group of 15 people. It rained about 2 days out of 3 and my tent was the only one that didn't flood! A 1.5 ounce tube for a two man tent. It was nice to get ready and sleep on a mattress and not in a car or a flooded tent! My friend tried waterproofing spray but it didn't work. So did other friends who had rain flies and so on. Now the two of us are going on a road trip again and I'm sure we'll definitely be ready…

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • The list will be long.

It doesn't matter how many times you tell them. Knives have no place next to tents. Don't shoot, but that was the previous lesson. Don't play with a knife near the tent, I kept telling them. Once when a Boy Scout was teaching another Boy Scout how to throw his knife in his spare time (No, nobody was miraculously injured) he bounced off the tent. Tree stump, turned around in the air like a UFO or some kind of "silver bullet" and flew towards the tent. Luckily he gained altitude and just flew…
