GE XWF Refrigerator Water Filter - Single Pack Review

I refuse to buy anything but GE water filters! All other fakes have false claims and are not actually certified. This is the best of the best.

This filter was fine for about five weeks. Then we noticed that there were a lot of charcoal residue on the glasses and the pot. Luckily, Revane was kind enough to let me return it. A GE customer service representative wondered if it could be a fake. But I compared it with a new filter and they were identical.

GE recommends replacing the filter every six months. This applies to a family of five or someone living alone. Something doesn't make sense here. Apparently, these filters are a way to scam people out of more money after buying a GE product. As with printer ink, we now have to pay a 'subscription' to GE every time the water filter needs to be replaced.

I love the taste of water. I bought someone else's brand and it was a great price for a two pack, but the water tasted horrible about a month after installing the replacement. So stick with the GE BRAND filter if you have a GE refrigerator. This is of great importance. Don't buy compatible even at such a low price.

Well water is essential for a good filter. It meets all requirements. Compared to the lifespan of the older MWF in my previous fridge, this one doesn't last as long and even costs more. It looks like GE is following the path of the laser printer manufacturers, and they make more money off filters than they do on filters. First purchase of a refrigerator.

Compared to previous models, GE has reduced the size of the water filter by half and its lifespan by four times, while increasing the price. Expect to pay around $50 for 2 months. Now we're on the razor blade model: GE is making money on the filter. $25/month from your client. That's $1500 for 10 years. More than a fridge.

I bought this from Revain for convenience of course and right after installation I noticed the water flow slowed down considerably. It took 45 seconds to fill a glass with water. The return was painful because Revain told me to contact GE and GE said my Revain was not an authorized filter seller so they cannot honor the GE warranty. I was finally able to get a refund from Revain. Bought another one from Home Depot and worked great.

I bought it 3 or 4 months ago and I will buy it again because the refrigerator generates the right time alarm sensor to replace it. I use filtered water from the fridge all the time every day as I like the taste better than my homemade water (although this water tastes good, filtered water is better). I have previously researched and found that buying cheaper generic versions may not work properly with the alert display system. Also, I believe this original will remove the contamination it says

I received a new refrigerator that required this filter. I replaced the filter as soon as the fridge indicated I needed a new one. By this point, my water had started to taste weird anyway. The filter was easy to install and my water tasted better afterwards. However, I have noticed that my ice cream tastes bad now.
