Description of General Tools 311038 3/8-Inch Button Plugs, Oak, 50-Pack: Ideal for Furniture Restoration and Woodworking Projects

Button head plugs are ideal for those unsightly screw holes; when seated the button head protrudes the wood surface adding a decorative look. Easily installed with wood glue; the slightly tapered plug body ensures a tight fit. Wood grain running the full width of the plug gives any piece a clean, matching finished look. Paint or stain to match perfectly, or make it different to accentuate a project. Button head plugs can be used for a variety of craft, woodworking and furniture projects.

Incompatible: Power tool parts and accessories

Slight size differences. There are no stains, but the polyurethane makes them dark. Expect to have to glue the plugs into the installation.

Cons
  • No instructions

Slightly larger than stated

To replace a couple of missing cupboard knobs, they should have fitted the size I have but they were cut slightly larger so would not fit the holes but other sizes available would be too small.

Some plugs have defects during operation.

Some plugs have some imperfections in the turning process that result in tiny "nicks" on the top or bottom. Because of their size, they can be a bit difficult to grind smooth. Otherwise the product does what it is supposed to.
