It has a feature that ALL aquarium thermometers should have.

One would think that high and low temperature alarms would be a standard feature on all aquarium thermometers. It's not like this. I really had to search to find this, but I'm glad I did. I've had it in my tank for 2 weeks now and it works great. I have tested the accuracy with two other thermometers and it is spot on. It comes with double-sided magnetic strap and velcro straps. The sensor has a suction cup mount, but I didn't use it. I find it best to just let the probe hang freely in the…

Statistics - Aquarium Thermometer

I use it as a referee for temperature readings on my aquarium cooler, aquarium heater and room air conditioner. This device seems ideal with room air conditioning. I have a temperature of 80 degrees in the aquarium and the resolution of the air conditioner is not 10 degrees. This device helps me determine the actual temperature in my aquarium. My heating is set to 73.5 degrees. My cooler is set to 76 degrees. The displays are listed as follows: Cooler/Heat/AQ150. High temperature = 76.8 / 75.5…

Brilliant. I will be buying these for all my aquariums and reptile habitats

Amazing! I've been using it for about a month and this is an honest review. Nothing for this review. Pros: Accurate to within 1 degree (maybe 1.3°). I've tested with some HVAC meters that I use and trust. It updates about every 15 or 20 seconds. It's easy to program, has selectable F and C. It's quite large. for reading with 1 inch digits, the unit is 3"x2". The alarm is loud enough, but does not hit the ears. Comes with Velcro for the module and a suction cup for the probe to stick to the…

Inaccurate and alarm going off randomly now

If you like waking up in the middle of the night panicking because this thing has a false alarm then I would recommend this product. If you prefer a good night's sleep, skip this and pay a bit more for something more accurate and reliable, like the Inkbird (306 Wi-Fi model I have), which I know is a POS instead. I bought 2 of these, one for my main tank and one for my quarantine so I can sleep easy at night knowing that a horrible thermometer failure will never cause me to wake up in a tank…

It's sad how few temperature alarms are

I have a marine reef aquarium and anyone who has experienced a cooler failure knows the catastrophic effects of high temperatures on a marine reef. It's sad how few temperature alarms there are. You would think they would be as easy to find as space heaters, but they are not. When I discovered this product I thought it was perfect. Renowned distributor. Reasonable price. In fact, it worked fine for 6-8 months, but it started giving false positives and strangely high temperature readings. I…

Decent thermometer with alarm

This is a good little thermometer. The gauge I received is accurate, I tested it with chilled (50F) and warm (130F) water and compared it to the readings I got with Thermapen, shaking the water to avoid hot spots avoid. Although the theme adjusts much more quickly, both readings were within 0.3 degrees of each other after about a minute. I took the time to notice that this thermometer updates its temperature every 10 seconds, which is very good as it takes time to adjust to the ambient…

The AQ 150 can be a great little lifesaver for your Finny friends.

UPDATE 8/12/2015 I finally had to replace my original AQ150 (review below) because I seem to have broken the probe cable by pinching it between the aquarium heater and the heater's suction cup mount. This new AQ150 has been replaced and it looks like most of the changes are improvements. New this time around are: 1.) The addition of a probe bracket and mounting screw to attach the probe to a wall or lumber yard, 2.) The white hard plastic suction cup has been replaced with a more pliable…
