Exactly what he says.

I fitted this to my 1.7 04 Honda Civic and it has been happy for three months. Works easily as well as my factory Honda thermostat for a fraction of the price.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Always use the OEM thermostat

With a normal thermostat my 2005 Civic runs between 160 and 195 degrees on the highway, but with the OEM thermostat the coolant temperature is always stable between 182 and 188 degrees on the highway.

Pros
  • Nicely
Cons
  • Modernity

OEM replacement. I switched my thermostat through a .

OEM replacement. I replaced my thermostat with a third party device. I received CEL because the temperature was out of range. I had to go back to the OEM to fix the issue / CEL.05 Civic Ex Auto

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Some issues

Affordable and realistic offer

I did my job and it works like a charm. It was very affordable and my unit is working great again in my old Honda. I'm guessing this genuine OEM part is cheap because the older the car the more expensive the parts unless you end up at a junkyard.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

BUY THIS, DON'T BUY CHEAPER PATTERN, IT WILL STOP IN 1-2 YEARS

Perfect for 2003 Civic EX 1.4L engine. Supplied with matching gasket. DO NOT make the mistake of buying a cheaper all-rounder unless you simply unload the machine. If you want to keep it, use Honda parts. I learned the hard way, the generic failed after 24 months.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • It's ok

Very easy installation, excellent quality.

Very easy installation and fixed the problem with a little heating in the car. I lubricated the gasket with some silicone dielectric grease to get it seated properly. After installation, run the machine with the radiator cap open and the heater fully on until the thermostat opens and the fans come on. Continue to add coolant to the system until air bubbles come out.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Can I add anything?

Proactive replacement in 2004 Honda Civic EX during coolant flush

I like replacing the thermostat while the coolant is being flushed. I once had a plugged thermostat causing the engine to overheat which in turn led to head gasket failure. Contrary to the previous comment, the seal actually worked in a 2004 Civic. I ended up using some silicone paste to hold it in place while I assembled the thermostat housing.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • A long time ago
