Works best in the interior Switch

I bought this for a 2014 Mazda CX-5. The seller (dealer) told me that this would not work on my car as it was not in the VIN range. It worked and I believe it works on ANY 2014 model. If you don't already know, the part that fails is the soft rubber button that activates/deactivates the parking sensor. Replacements have hard plastic handles. When I removed my old one, I found a piece of soft rubber lying next to the module.

The perfect solution to my problem

My Mazda CX-5 wouldn't turn off completely when I put the shifter in park and pressed the start/stop button. After doing a little research, I found out that this part can solve the problem. There are some good how-to videos out there so check them out. This part fitted perfectly and solved my problem 100%! The replacement took about 45 minutes but saved me at least $150 that the mechanic wanted to charge me for it. Highly recommended!

OEM replacement part - worked fine

I bought this part because it is a known fact that this part will fail in my make/model of car. Rather than waiting for a recall or paying the dealer a few hundred bucks for a replacement I decided to get the part myself and have it done as I'm pretty handy around the house/auto. The whole process only took about an hour and was pretty easy once I had the instructions. Overall, this part will probably last the lifetime of my car.

Shutdown issue solved

Have been having a problem with my 14 Cx5 GT for a while. When parked and hitting the engine off button, it wouldn't turn off. A slight wiggle of the shifter turned it off. Visit the forum to find this common problem due to wear on the sensor's original rubber tip. The new sensor doesn't have the same rubber tip (I think Mazda figured that out). Basically 4 screws to move the console (slid back, not removed), 2 screws for the sensor, and everything worked like new. The whole process took me…

Works perfectly! on Interior Switches

This is exactly what I needed to fix the annoying (and potentially dangerous - being left in the middle of nowhere with a dead battery is no good!) problem of not recognizing a car , when it's in park and therefore doesn't turn off the infotainment console when the car is off. I found a workaround by repeatedly and firmly going into "park" mode until it turned off completely, but this method wasn't reliable and seemed to lose its effectiveness. $230 compared to what the dealer ($290) would…

2014 Mazda 6 Grand Touring

I had this general problem with Mazda when you park the car and turn it off, the engine dies but the radio and accessories don't turn off and I had to turn it on and off as well or just flick the switch to park and it would fix it after a few times, it was really annoying and one day my car wouldn't start at all and I had to start it with accessories for a few hours. . That's when I got this part after some research, I'm a Ford technician so installing this part was very easy but anyone with…

If your Mazda isn't shutting down properly then this part could be for you

Our Mazda 6 didn't turn the ignition fully off when parked with the engine off. You would open the door and the machine would beep continuously and the displays would not turn off. If left in this condition, the battery will drain and the car will not start after a few hours. The solution was to restart the car and PUSH the gear stick to the 'park' position (automatic transmission), this would activate the 'park' position sensor and allow the car to shut down normally. Every time we parked, we…
