Review on Genuine OEM Mazda KDY0-46-040 SWITCH: Guaranteed Quality and Authenticity by Mark Cole

Our Mazda 6 didn't turn the ignition fully off when parked with the engine off. You would open the door and the machine would beep continuously and the displays would not turn off. If left in this condition, the battery will drain and the car will not start after a few hours. The solution was to restart the car and PUSH the gear stick to the 'park' position (automatic transmission), this would activate the 'park' position sensor and allow the car to shut down normally. Every time we parked, we had to start with a jump. The problem is that Mazda installed faulty "parking sensor" switches, which quickly wore out. This part is a more reliable replacement for the first generation touch switch (which Mazda is not responsible for). Shame on you Mazda. Anyway, this part works AMAZING and we haven't had any problems since we installed it. There are several videos on YouTube that will help with the installation. It took me about 45 minutes to remove and reattach the skin.
