2001 4runner - Lock Cylinder

Aside from the high price, this is a much better unit than the aftermarket unit that was previously installed on the car. It's also easy to replace. If you would like it fitted to your existing locks I would suggest getting a few quotes from your local locksmiths as the price can vary slightly.

Pros
  • Package Weight: 0.200 lb
Cons
  • old

Get a factory part if you want it to last

I previously purchased a replacement cylinder and key set for my Tacoma from Revain and it took about 3 months for the key to start getting in the cylinder lock to get stuck. The Toyota dealer wanted $175.00 for the part, but I bought a factory Toyota cylinder and set of keys from Revain at a significantly reduced price. So my advice is if you want the part to last, spend the extra money and get a factory part for the best service. .

Pros
  • Made in China
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Exact OEM replacement for my 2002 4Runner

I bought this car a few months ago and the ignition switch stopped responding and would not turn. It worked fine most of the time, but sometimes I had to shake the key in the ignition to get it to turn. It got progressively worse over the next few months, until it took me five minutes to finally spin the cylinder. There are many good cylinder installation videos on YouTube. After confirming that the product would work I took it back out, went to the locksmith and had the toggle switches…
