The article had to be modified

So the new part was too short for the old version. I had to reuse part of the old brass rod to be able to use the new one with the length needed for the weight. After I did the swap with the old part, it now works perfectly. Our problem was that the silver lever on the side of the tub was completely broken and the tub would not drain. Now functional again.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons

There are no screws in this assembly.

Very easy to install, it doesn't even need to adjust the length. A problem. no new screws during assembly. I replaced a really old gold one and all the screws were rusty. So I had to use a brand new top jumper assembly from another manufacturer to get two screws to complete the job. DAS added significant cost to simply replacing someone who didn't use their coconut in this product's packaging.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Little things

MISSING SCREWS TO ATTACH

Bought this product to replace a broken one in my bathtub. I didn't read the reviews at first because I knew exactly what part I wanted. I was very surprised when the kit didn't include any screws to put it back in the bathtub. Good thing the trash wasn't removed so I could salvage the old ones. Now I need to find replacement screws because the old ones definitely look old. MISSING EVERYTHING - SCREWS TO ATTACH IT TO YOUR BATHROOM

Pros
  • Beautifully packaged
Cons
  • Electrical outlet required

Works until the sticky oxide stops the plug

Works for a short time then you need to pull out and remove the sticky green oxide that forms on the drain plug and prevents the plug from falling down the drain. I doubt the quality of this brass. It's a great learning tool for understanding how simple the drain stop mechanism is, but my goodness it's frustrating having to disassemble and remove the linkage to clean and reinstall every time you try to close the tub to use.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Modernity

Perfect fit, easy installation

Installation was so easy, even this girl who had barely used a screwdriver before did it! I watched a few videos on YouTube and the replacement process looked easy enough. Removal and installation took less than 10 minutes. Size fits perfectly (original hardware installed late 80s or early 90s). I would have preferred a brushed nickel finish but agree with shiny chrome if that means proper drainage.

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Includes negative

this may be what you are looking for

I've been doing this job all my life, 50+ years. Okay, I have no problem with the big chain stores. This is the correct part for an early American Standard Tub. best connection. Genuine Gerber chrome part yes as advertised without screws. I've been trying to find the right one. You can just use your old brass cylinder and replace the linkage when it no longer holds water, most likely it's just the release button and week spring. This part is more expensive but it's what you need. Much luck

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black
