Description of Gikfun Solderable Breadboard 5PCS Kit with Gold Plated Finish - DIY Proto Board PCB for Arduino (GK1007)

This board is especially useful for preserving a prototype or experiment you just created on a solderless breadboard by soldering all the pieces in place. Breadboard PCB for any type Raspberry Pi GPIO. Gold plated finish prevents oxidation, High quality Gold finish for easy soldering. All holes are through-plated for strength. Adaptable with a variety of MCU boards. Compatible with Arduino Nano, Pro Mini, NodeMCU, etc.

Best PCB I've touched in 30 years.

I worked for a company that paid literally thousands of dollars for circuit boards. Even they didn't look as good as these Gikfun PCBs. Of course, these others were special because of all their layers. but hey I can't believe people are complaining about power rails that don't match third party parts or component lines. I'm just glad I don't have to wear gloves and/or sand the edges to handle circuit boards. :D

No problem soldering to it.

I bought these boards for small projects. I put them in my parts basket and recently picked one up for building a project I saw in an e-zine. Soldering to the board wasn't difficult. Unlike some boards, all of the board's columns are connected on each side of the board. So installing the IC, or in my case the Arduino Nano, gave me a lot of open and connected solder joints. None of the copper materials rose when soldering or desoldering as I made a few wiring mistakes. I will buy more when they…

Highly recommended!

Excellent circuit boards. Their hole pattern matches solderless breadboards of the same size. You create a prototype on a breadboard and when you are satisfied you can solder a version onto that board. The solder resist is great and makes soldering easier. The copper is thick enough that the connections can be repeated several times without tearing the copper foil from the substrate. You can also use a utility knife to cut the film between the holes if needed. The mounting holes are also large,

Nice breadboard for early prototyping and/or simple projects

I know some electronics communities hate them, but I think they're a godsend. For easy one-off personal projects, just design it on a regular breadboard and when you're done solder it identically to that board and it should work pretty much the same as it does on a breadboard. It's a lot quicker than trying to create a custom board, and a lot easier to make changes when needed. These particular boards seem to be pretty well made. Traces/vias are numbered the same as on a regular breadboard. I…

Dimensions do not match product mounting holes

The boards work very well for use with ESP8266 and ESP32 development boards, but the ones I recently bought do not have mounting holes on the ones shown in the picture Place. with sizes and not the same as some I've bought before. The mounting holes are about 1/2 the hole diameter farther from the edge of the board than they should be. Also, the Gikfun.com label printed on the board is made up of smaller capital letters instead of the capital G and all other lower case letters. Are they made by

Excellent quality. Bad landing!

The purpose of buying a soldered breadboard is so that what you have on a breadboard can be fitted with a solder joint. The hole spacing is normal for the columns marked "a" through "j", but the hole spacing is completely OFF on the +/- bars on either side. The end result is that my Hiletgo ESP32 module fits perfectly into the holes in columns b and i, but the MB102 breadboard power supply does not fit into the +/- holes on the left and right sides of this so-called solderable breadboard. I had

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Safety

Received these today and as soon as I opened the package I was impressed with the quality and attention to detail. The boards have the same layout as my solderless breadboard with the same connectors. The center area pin spacing is the same as on the breadboard, but the power pins (two outer rows on each side) are 1mm wider. This can be a problem when trying to use a breadboard modular power supply, but it's not a problem for me. What impressed me was the processing of the boards. The edges of…

Saves time. Easy transition from prototype to rigid design

Like many electronics enthusiasts, I use "proto boards" to try out designs. Of course, designs can be simple or complex. In this case, I was prototyping an Arduino-based LED controller for an outdoor display. I only needed an Arduino NANO, 3 FETs and 3 resistors. So the little prototype board worked fine. After my design was tested, I needed to create a hardware equivalent. In the past I've used similar sized circuit boards that are cheap and readily available. The problem is that while the…
