My son's head circumference is 53 cm, didn't fit. Mister Big Head needs to wear a bigger helmet. Regardless, the helmet looks cool and I'm sure it will protect my (hopefully) Ivy League son's brain.

This helmet works well, size S fits my 2 year old and is not too big. However, I have already ordered a MIPS helmet twice and received a non-MIPS version. They are very similar, so make sure you get the one you ordered.

This helmet looked fantastic and fit my 15 month old helmet BUT the helmet we received had NO markings to suggest it was a MIPS helmet (ex (e.g. bright yellow labels and a label on the back). Even the box said "Scamp" and not "Scamp MIPS". We ended up sending it back and ordering the same helmet from another store and this helmet had all the correct tags. So PLEASE make sure you actually get a MIPS helmet if you're looking for one.

This helmet is perfect for my 3 year old almost 4 year old son with the opportunity to grow with lots of different ways to adjust the fit. It offers a snug (but not tight) fit that stays in place while cycling. I like that the helmet sits properly on the back and doesn't slip around like other helmets worn by preschoolers. Dial on the back allows millimeter precision adjustment. Fits perfectly. The chin strap is also fully adjustable, but before I could adjust the chin strap, my spirited daughter was running, jumping, and climbing with her helmet on and running away. This is our second Giro Scamp MIPS. When our son outgrew his very small size, we switched to the small size because we were very happy with the product. I bought this helmet for my daughter because I liked the MIPS head protection system. Unfortunately, the way the system is mounted on the helmet results in hair getting caught in it every time she puts the helmet on. My daughter could not remove her helmet without screaming in pain as it pulled her hair out and got stuck on her. We have used this Giro Mips Scamp helmet before, the dimensions are incorrect for this helmet 'year'. The website says the Giro Samp XS is 47cm to 51cm, while the helmet we received says the XS is 45cm to 49cm. Just check what year you are buying this "land of flowers” "2020. Otherwise light weight and appears to be the right size for a 4.5 year old.
