Description of ๐Ÿ”’ Gizmo Dorks Preapplied Laminated Adhesive: Ready-to-Apply Bonding Solution for Various Surfaces

Made in the USA - Ultem 1000 PEI sheet installs quickly via the laminated adhesive on top of existing flat build platforms (e.g. borosilicate glass). Bubble free application - The 3M 468MP adhesive is already preapplied to the PEI; simply peel back the tape liner for quick adhesion to the bed. Build Surface - PEI is the perfect no prep build surface which is endlessly reusable for multiple prints; clean with isopropypl alcohol between prints (or with acetone on a COLD bed). ABS and PLA filaments (along with many other materials) print directly on to PEI surface without the need for additional adhesives, tapes, or slurry. Dimensions: 235 x 235mm / PEI thickness: 0.56mm (0.022 inches) / Laminated 3M 468MP adhesive thickness: 0.13mm (0.005 inches) / Fits the Creality Ender 3 or Creality CR 20 perfectly!.

Great Sticky Film for 3D Printing

After trying this adhesive, my 3D prints came out with solid and smooth layers - no more curling or warping. The pre-applied laminate is very convenient and saves time. The adhesive material works well with a range of filament materials, and the package is sufficient enough for multiple applications. The only downside is the price point, as it's slightly more expensive compared to other items in the Industrial and Scientific category.

Pros
  • Smooth layers, Convenient pre-applied laminate, Works with multiple filaments
Cons
  • Price is slightly high

If you have adhesion issues, this sheet is probably a good choice.

I had a similar finish to the BuildTak that came with my Wanhao Di3+ clone. It worked well for PLA, but PETG didn't want to stick with it as well. So I ordered a silicone gasket, a square of borosilicate glass, and this PEI sheet. I tore off the old printing surface and then put in a silicone pad, glass and PEI sheet. Before I start heating the platform before each print, I wipe down the PEI sheet with 99% isopropanol. PETG (which I mostly print with) works well (sometimes too well) for thisโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Build Surface - PEI is an ideal no-prep build surface that can be endlessly reused for multiple prints; Clean between prints with isopropyl alcohol (or acetone on a COLD layer)
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Life Changing Product

**** Review edited after speaking with seller and using the product for about a month and about a dozen prints. The original review is included at the end for posterity. **** I think I messed up applying the first PEI sheet I bought because I didn't wait long enough after cleaning the IPA glass top before applying the PEI sheet. This caused bubbles to form once the assembly was heated to printing temperature, making the printing surface uneven and requiring the removal of the PEI sheet whichโ€ฆ
