Works great. in sensors

Just trying to fix my oven sensor. If you know what it is, you most likely don't need a review. just know that it works just as well as the original part. I had no problems.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Some errors

Fixed Goodman heater issue.

This brought the heating function of a Goodman gas heater back to life. The symptom was intermittent and didn't fit this solution as there shouldn't be any flames at all when they go bad. I got a heater call for a few minutes and then it turned off. I was expecting it to be a field sensor but same day shipping and cheap so decided to give it a try and that was the problem.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Working speed

Great quality replacement replacement

I tried cleaning my original flame sensor with steel wool but it still worked erratically (gas burners would light and then go out 25 or 30% of the time after a few seconds before repeating process and eventually remain in the cycle for the 2nd or 3rd time). So I broke down and spent $10 to replace a Ferguson sensor and my burner problem seems to have gone away. Used on a 1997 Goodman Oven.

Easy replacement to save over $200

If your oven lights up and then turns off shortly thereafter, it may be a flame sensor fault. For safety reasons, if the stove does not detect a flame, it will cut off the gas supply to prevent gas from entering through the vents. Unscrew the old sensor and plug it in. It can only work in one direction, so it is reliable. Most HVAC companies will charge you a diagnostic fee of $90 and over $120 for a labor hour to replace this part. In fact if there is a problem with your oven I suggestโ€ฆ

Pros

  • No automatic controls

Fixed intermittent failure issue on my Goodman GMS90703BXA gas oven

Fixed intermittent failure issue on my Goodman GMS90703BXA gas oven. Sometimes my oven would "lock up" after a failed start after three attempts. This crash was intermittent and happened randomly from once a day to once a week. The stove manual and online discussions have shown that the problem "might" lie in the flame sensor. I tried cleaning it with steel wool as other people have suggested, but the intermittent failures continued. Installing the new flame sensor took about five minutes. Allโ€ฆ

OE replacement flame sensor, buy some spares

This is a genuine Goodman Oven Flame Sensor. They work as advertised. I recommend buying a few as spares. Although you can clean them with steel wool, this can cause a problem with the current being determined by the stove top when the flame touches the wand. They're cheap enough to buy a few for parts. I'd rather spend a little more now to have additional components than wait at a mechanic's mercy when the heat dies down. My stove had been out for over a week on the coldest nights of Decemberโ€ฆ

Went like clockwork. Good price!

I had to change this part 3 times on our oven. The first time I think I paid the stove builder $150 to fix it including the parts, the second time I bought the part at the store for $60 and it was even cheaper this time. It's such a simple solution. For me, the symptom of a problem was our stove turning on, the igniter igniting the flame, and then within about 5 seconds the flame went out. It's essentially a safety feature, with this sensor checking that the flame is actually burning. Thisโ€ฆ
