Just received today Opened packaging and small parts in the photo fell out and found rust in the photo. What are these little parts for?

The product looks new and unused but the packaging was cut open at one end when I received it as if someone had opened it and sent it back. The handle is not very firm and is not fixed very securely in the extended position. I have another one I bought years ago that looks the same but has a more secure grip. Let's see how this holds up. My old one worked great. I need another one for another car.

Key handle extends between stowed position and extended use position. The lever has a locking knob on the inner tube that fits into a hole on the outer tube to lock in the extended position. Unfortunately, the size of the locking button is too small for the depth of the hole, resulting in the key shank tending to fold during use. Context: I have a full size Chevy truck and a full size Nissan sedan. Pros1) The sockets have 2 sizes in 1. The size is on both ends of the socket. I'm a little indifferent to this wrench. It is very suitable for tightening and loosening nuts. But once the nuts are loose, this tool is far from ideal for quickly loosening them.
