great addition to the best cribs and hammocks

We already have a Grand Trunk and wanted to make it more flexible for use in the trees. This tree band is exactly what we wanted and we can't wait to use it.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Nothing

The seams come out.

I would like to give this product five stars. Very easy to wrap around trees. I can enjoy my hammock within four minutes of taking it out of my bag. But the seams for the tree profile have already come undone. I got this in the mail on April 11th and installed it probably 6 times. Possibly defective, but I am returning this product. Also, it happens in two places.

Not a bad product! on camping furniture

I decided to try them a few months ago as they are cheaper than ENO belts. While they're nothing more than high-quality knotted rope with a protective tree cover, they're handy for quickly setting up a hammock. Did I mention good quality? I've used them all year and don't see any signs of stretching or fatigue. Tree guards could be a bit bigger, but that's not a problem with smaller trees. The holdall is comfortable and the right size - I have no trouble reattaching the straps. I recommend!

Works but could be better

First, the main reason I prefer to use straps over rope is to protect trees. I'm not sure if this design is best for that. Of course it spreads the surface area of the tackle many times over, but the surface area can be increased more by having the webbing support the weight rather than just covering the tackle. Secondly, this system is not so simple and efficient. The webbing is actually a double layer, and the rope runs all over the tree. In some cases there are 4 layers of material bypassing

Do exactly what they are supposed to do.

A friend of mine recently gave me a Grand Trunk hammock but I didn't have any straps so I decided to buy one. I originally bought these to have a matching set of hammock and grand trunk straps, but after receiving them in the mail I don't think I would have considered other straps. I've had experience with ENO hammocks and their straps in the past and they've always worked well, but I think I still end up preferring the Grand Trunk strap. The Grand Trunk harnesses use a round cord rather than a

Universal ready-made hanging option.

Nicely done. Our product weighed 9.2 ounces on my postal scale including the pouch. It packs up to 6 1/2" x 4" x 2 1/2". Great for our hike. It comes with 2 pre-tied 20ft cords and 2 straps or sleeves that are 2ft each Each cord is doubled and threaded through a 2" padded strap for securing to trees or whatever you use as poles. This gives you 10 feet of headroom at each end of the hammock for hanging. You simply wrap the Strap around your chosen pole and now thread the free ends of the double…

Not much in the long run

This belt set is not what I used it for. I have 9.4 ounces on my scale (including carrying case). The sling part must prevent damage to the tree trunk. In my experience, that's half true. The system works by tying knots in the rope and attaching carabiners to the loop you make around the tree. If you tie more knots for different positions, be careful. As I was packing my hammock, I noticed knots banging against the tree due to my weight (200 pounds). These knots are extremely difficult to untie

A hammock lover's best friend!

For many years I used hooks in the trees as we often go to the same spot to camp, but this meant I rarely had to use my hammock unless we were in the tent. My father saw them and offered them, so I got them. I used this on our recent hike and I'm in love! They were very easy to use - just pull them out, wrap them around a tree and I had my hammock set up in minutes. The only thing I had to add to both of the extra knots was that even with the trees perfectly spaced, the knots on the lines…

Good, cheap kit.

Bought and used on a recent hammock hike I went with friends, after two days needed a set of slings and wanted them to be light weight. These Grand Trunk lines seemed just right for what I needed them for. They have a claimed weight of 5.6 ounces and I weighed mine at 9.3 ounces with the bag and 8.95 without. The pre-knotted connection points seem a little less flimsy than we'd like, but it's easy to just add more knots with them, which you can't do with nylon or webbing slings. I was fine with
