This is not 100% human hair, it looks like a mix of human hair and some type of fiber. It looks like there is something stuck to some strands of hair that just water or water and shampoo CANNOT remove it (search the internet for pictures of lice eggs).

This mannequin's hair is perfect. I bought it for braiding and its thickness and length are perfect for holding the braids in place. The hair is soft but still thick enough that the braids are kept quite taut. Haven't tried using a heating element on it yet, but judging by the texture of the hair it will work perfectly. The head was clean and the included stand was great for mounting on a table or stand.

This was my very first mannequin head and I really like it. I definitely like the texture of the hair and you can part it loosely. I will buy another one soon.
