Motion detectors are ok, best

So here's the thing, they work great; if they work at all. 3/5 of the sensors I got always either didn't detect any movement or registered everything as movement. I decided to help him when in doubt and try to eliminate every possible glitch and no bones. It wasn't until I tried my fourth sensor that everything magically worked and to be honest I don't even know if the fifth works because I'm too scared of messing up my current setup.

Pros
 • Few competitors
Cons
 • unreliable

Output voltage was less than 3.3V

Motion detection works quite well. I tried using this to activate a 3V relay directly and had trouble activating the relay. Using a multimeter, I was able to find out that the output from these motion sensors is only 2.8 volts, which is just below the voltage threshold for the relay. Fortunately, the project also includes a Raspberry Pi, and 2.8 volts is enough to register as a high contribution to the Pi. So now I use the sensor as an input to the Pi and the Pi controls the relay. This part is

Pros
 • Hands-free operation
Cons
 • Very expensive

According to datasheet HC-SR501 stops detection ("detection range is shorter") when temperature gets to 30 degrees Celsius approaching (about 90 degrees Celsius). Fahrenheit). These units have through holes for adding a thermistor to improve high temperature performance in case someone needs to add a thermistor. I plan to lower my rating by one star for each device that continues to fail. The first three days I plugged it in, it worked very well. Easy to set up. The pins match well with Dupontโ€ฆ

Pros
 • Delivery was very fast
Cons
 • Crumpled

Most of these PIR sensors stop working

Design PCB to turn on 12V cabinet light. Will have to stop using this product. Bought five. Three stopped working after about ten minutes. They light up when you first turn them on, but don't respond at all after that.

Pros
 • ๐Ÿšฉ When using the 105 potentiometer, the output time is between 0.5s and 200s. Operating voltage range: 4.5-20VDC; Quiescent current: <50uA; Trigger: L cannot repeat trigger / H can repeat trigger (Default is Repeat Trigger)
Cons
 • Cable is shorter than other picks
