It's great, so beautiful, love the alternation of wood grains, the size, the flip top lid and the built in spoon with a little notch that doesn't get in the way of the clasp. It's a good size so it packs a decent amount of salt, giving you enough room to pinch off a portion or use a spoon. This is my first mortar and pestle as my kitchen is Japanese style. Ceramic is beautiful and functional. Made half a pesto as soon as I got it.
