Excellent for Maldon finishing. Peeling off a label is a nightmare

Beautiful to look at and easy to use with the included spoon. I have bamboo accessories on my kitchen counter so it fits perfectly. The magnetic snap on the lid keeps it secure so it doesn't accidentally open, but is easily accessible when you need salt. One star off for the bad labeling on the outside of the product. I mean, that bad boy was almost impossible to remove. I had to use solvent and a mop to get it all off! Hey, why not stick a label on the outside of the shrink wrap and make life…

Really good, best in the kitchen and dining room

Love this mortar and pestle. It looks simple and elegant, is easy to use and grinds very well. I got it in the mail last night. This morning it's time to check it out. 1. I grind up some whole peppers into dust. Then I added some garlic, basil, olive oil and got a very tasty pasta. So ahh yes it works well, it's easy to use, the ridges hold things in place and keep them in the bowl. Like grooves on a millstone, they make grinding easier. The bowl is a good size, holds a decent amount of stuff…

Beautiful but ruined by overzealous lettering

This is a bamboo salt box. It's great, so beautiful, love the alternation of wood grains, the size, the flip top lid and the built in spoon with a little notch that doesn't get in the way of the clasp. It's a good size so it packs a decent amount of salt, giving you enough room to pinch off a portion or use a spoon. My complaint reducing this by one star is the huge sticker which is very difficult to remove. This is a lovely item intended for display, there is already a sticker on the bottom…

Simple and competent

This is my first mortar and pestle as my kitchen is Japanese style. Ceramic is beautiful and functional. Made half a pesto as soon as I got it. I didn't think it would work after spending a few minutes crushing some fried garlic. But after adding olive oil, basil, salt and some dried herbs, it really came together very quickly. Also surprised by the ease of cleaning. A little hot running water was enough to wash almost everything out of nooks and crannies. The only negative I have to say is…

Great addition to my kitchen gadgets!

I love this suribachi set and have used it more than I thought possible! It measures about 5 inches in diameter, making it useful for smaller jobs. I've used it to grind spices, grind rock salt, but mainly to make salad dressing, which makes it great for a salad for one or two. or two whole cloves of garlic in the bowl and then swirl the wooden pestle in the bowl while continuing to press the garlic against the ribbed interior. Season with salt, pepper and drizzle with olive oil and continue to
