I love this fan, it's very quiet and perfect for my RV. They used to be on a boat and did a great job there. *** I have to say I was very disappointed even though we used them on the ship. the boat is 11 years old with no problems, the new one does not start. Admittedly we didn't install it right away, when we finally tried it (after first checking that it starts) it wouldn't start. I think that's a lesson. Check out new RV additions when they first arrive.

Just because I can't give negative stars. In the last 3 years I have bought 15 of these fans. Everyone starts perfectly. They produce a ton of air and are quiet. And then. After 6 months of use, they start ticking. humming noises. and finally creaking noises. Finally. they will stop working altogether. At first I liked these fans. currently. it almost leads to a divorce because the hell these fans are like that. And they are NOT cheap.

This thing works wonders for us. It comes with no connector, just bare wires which I found simple enough to connect to our Volkswagen bus's battery system. I attached it to the ceiling and it works well enough to blow straight at anyone sitting on the couch or lying on the bed when the couch transforms. Seems sturdy enough and has taken a few small bumps with the kids climbing, but still runs well. I wish I could have ordered two!

Installing these ends was a bit of a pain when I first attached these ends. It was my boat, not a fan problem. Then I turned it on and it sounded like an airplane idling. Holy cow! I called Hella and scolded a poor guy who worked there. When we finally sailed from Mexico to French Polynesia and needed to use them, they worked great! The morning rush is completely gone. Every night we said prayers and thanked God Hella for the fans. I really should call this guy back to apologize.

Good, quiet fan. Replaced two existing fans of the same model on my boat; They still worked but were noisy and starting to fail (rough, loose bearings). According to "Practical Sailor" they top the list in terms of performance, noise and quality. Of course I would buy again. :-) Please note that the service life can be greatly extended with simple maintenance.
