Very good chain! for collars, harnesses and leashes

This necklace was highly recommended to me by my dog trainer. It works great and is very durable. The switch makes it easy to turn on and off as it doesn't have to slide over my dog's head.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • not for everyone

The Toggle Choke is specifically used for training and should not be worn by your pet outside of training, after which the toggle collar should be removed and your pet fitted with a No Toggle Choke collar. . The toggle choke can get stuck in the dog's mouth while the dog can't push it out of the mouth due to the lever design on the chain collar. This particular collar is used more for training than as an everyday casual collar. I recommend this collar exclusively during training, only for…

Ideal for bully type breeds

Excellent quality product as described. The switch is essential for bully breeds with large heads and small necks such as boxers, boston terriers, mastiffs, etc. as the chain needs to be placed on the head and then not too large on the neck. I've found that with this type of collar, by measuring the dog's neck and adding 2 inches, I get the correct size once it's on the neck. Just enough room for proper control during exercise, not too tight and not too loose.

Good quality sling

I like this leverage choke but I am in the horse business and own a lot of Herm Sprenger bits. I will buy anything they make knowing it will be a quality item. I just read another review that warned against using this collar for training purposes only and removing it after training. I totally agree, but for that reason I wouldn't give the product less than 5 stars. This is a quality product designed for a specific use and that's why I give it 5 stars. Misuse is not a product defect.

The toggle choke is used specifically for training purposes and should not be worn by your pet outside of training. At this point, the toggle collar should be removed and the no-toggle collar placed on your pet.
