    Im impressed good for internals

I bought IBM RAID controllers which could not support RAID configuration for over a month resulting in loss of all my data. I used Microsoft's software RAID, but when my MB failed and was replaced with an MB of the same type, the RAID was gone. Rocket RAID has been working since installation. Setup was easy and when one of the HD connectors came loose it was still functional. I reconnected the connector and rebuilt the RAID with no drama. I'm optimistic because I've found a reliable controller…

    Works with Windows 10 2004

Works with Windows 10 Pro 2004 64-bit Driver had to be downloaded from Highpoint-tech website and installed manually, but works fine. The only disappointment is that there is no "NO-BIOS" BIOS file for this card that would allow it to skip the BIOS boot at the beginning. I only use this card for JBOD and don't need the BIOS prompt on boot.

No 12Gbps SAS support unless you buy their cases

Reasonable price if you use SATA drives. Don't try to use SAS drives unless you're using their overpriced rack mount case. I am using a Norco RPC-4220 and the controller failed to recognize 2 different SAS drives that are on Highpoint's compatibility list. Highpoint Support replied to my ticket that the backplane I'm using may not be compatible with their controller. When I asked for a list of compatible backplanes he said they don't have a list and their cases have backplanes that they know…

    Pros
    • Convenient product
    Cons
    • Expensive insurance

    External ports are not good

I had this card for several months and struggled with it at every turn. Internal connections work fine, but when external connections are made, the system crashes. After months of fighting, HighPoint finally says it doesn't support any third-party products (adapters, cables, etc.), but doesn't make anything in-house either. So external ports are useless!

    Good card, cheap and reliable

The card has proven to be reliable. I was actually pretty happy that it picked up my existing RAID 6 from an old RocketRaid 3530 card and it was up and running. As mentioned in other reviews, RAID 6 is configured through the RAID manager in Windows.

    • Quick exchange

    Fairly cheap but reliable

The 3740A is a solid RAID card that I've used about a dozen times. Drivers only work after installation, you don't even need to update the firmware. All of this just works. Despite some uninformed reviewers, the 12Gb support works too. HighPoint doesn't have the best customer service, but since it's a hard product to screw up (besides buying a 6GB case and complaining about the lack of 12GB speed), it shouldn't matter much.

    Pros
    • 1 year trial
    Cons
