I bought this cover to freshen up the look of my 2003 CRV. It's like daylight compared to the old stock tires. The old style was just less functional with zippers and didn't age well. The material of the new boot is much lighter but still feels strong but sits loosely on the hoop instead of being snug as shown in the product image. Mine came with a few stains on the front as you can see from the photos uploaded. All in all a great update that is far superior to the outdated original.

My 2004 CR-V spare tire had a coating shot through - the zippers rusted and the tie rods fell off. This item was my choice for a replacement rather than paying a dealership for a Honda part. It doesn't have a zipper but rather an impressive stretchy cord. It completely covers the tire and the metal does not corrode. I doubt it will last 15 years like the original but I don't expect the car to last that long. It doesn't have a 'Honda' or 'CR-V' logo - I just didn't care.

I recently installed a Yakima Sparetime bike rack on my 2004 Honda CR-V. The Sparetime mounting plate attaches to the spare tire mounting bolts and behind the spare tire, and a 1-1/4" square metal tube runs horizontally from the plate through the center of the spare tire.
