Honeywell Home MicroDefense Furnace Filter Review

I usually have 1" thick filters in the outer slots and nothing in the airbox slot itself. This worked well for coarse pet hair, dust and the like. But when my wife's daughter came to us with a cat allergy. We did pulled out the other filters and put this one in the main slot instead. I almost want to say it's like putting an N95 mask on your house. this filter works. Without it she would have red eyes and stuff. with it. She's been here for a week with no problems.

I haven't used mine yet but I did a trial install in a filter box and it fit my 20x25x5 furnace filter box just like an Actual Filter This one Filter is only slightly smaller than the 20" and 24" sizes, while the 4" is actually 4 3/8". The filter my installer put in the oven was also listed as 20 x 25 x 4 but was only 3.5 inches deep. I measured the furnace filter box before ordering this and am happy with the fit and quality of the filter.

Having used higher rated Merv filters for the last several years, my system has sometimes had trouble staying cool/warm depending on the time of year. It ran constantly on hot or cold days because it just wasn't moving as much air due to the more restrictive nature of the Merv 12, which became even more restrictive with use. An important note that I have long ignored: the denser your filter mesh, the more difficult it is to force air through, so your stove may not be operating at full capacity. I bought this lower Merv rating - still an 8! - and my oven runs more quietly and so far the efficiency has been noticeable in the fact that it doesn't always run. I ordered this Honeywell oven filter in August on the advice of our oven specialist. (He scheduled our fall oven setup for today, November 28th, and told me to order a filter since they don't ship it on their truck.) I placed the unopened box next to the oven. Very disappointed with this purchase. I bought a Honeywell CF 100A1025 4.5" Heavy Duty Air Filter for my gas oven because I made the mistake of trusting the "Specifications" that are clearly stated in the description of the filter. namely that its actual dimensions have been reported as 24.9 x 18.8 x 4.4 inches.
