🔌 Hopkins 48145 12-Foot 4 Wire Flat Extension Review

I bought an old trailer and the braid was too short to reach the built in light socket in the bumper. This adapter did the trick so I didn't have to worry about plugs coming loose at every corner.

Be careful as the product description says 12 without units. I looked at other things that were several feet long and mistakenly assumed they meant 12 feet. It is actually 12 inches long.

This extension is NOT suitable for vehicle-side spring connectors. It is very difficult to open the port cover and install this extension. Don't waste money, buy an extension with a ring that makes insertion easier.

I'm borrowing my utility trailer and the wiring harness is a bit short for pickups with bumper mounted connectors. This extension is just the right size. Long enough to bridge the gap without worrying about it flopping or grinding like an 18" extension. It seems well made and the price is lower than the local marine/trailer shop.

I had to cut them in half and use them as a quick connector for off-road headlights on the front bumper so I don't have to constantly cut and reattach the headlights when removing the grille. I flush my radiator and A/C condenser to keep dirt and crap out and cool it down and it does one less job. It is 12 inches long and the actual wire length is 9 inches.
