Not my favorite ice cream ball mold

As we only received this item 2 days ago we still don't know exactly how much water you need to use to make a round ball but overall I am moderately satisfied. We're not as happy with this model as the previous ice ball mold we've used because it doesn't snap into place, you just have to place it on a perfectly flat surface and let gravity from above hold the shape. on site. Although these ice balls are easier to achieve because the shape is flexible. I'm not sure I prefer this flexible form to

5 stars but with some caveats/warnings

The balls will NOT look like the picture (perfectly round and transparent) so just give up hope. At best, they get out of shape in a small ring along the equator. The transparency of the ice is the same as any other ice. So if you want the perfect round crystal balls floating in a stylish glass of whiskey, this isn't going to happen. I couldn't get it right after a lot of effort and trial and error (I followed the instructions and then tried several methods I read online - first boil water, add

Summer is here! best in ice cube molds and trays

The summers I visit are pretty warm and this little ice maker is just what I need to keep me warm and cool! The application requires a little practice. I fill the bottom compartment up to the line (just a little) and attach the two pieces together. Then I run my finger over each ball to seal it and maybe pour some more water through the top hole. Water expands when it freezes, but if there isn't enough water, a small dent will form. (Looks cool! Like a little Death Star!) I prefer to gently…

Fun and easy-to-use new ice cream mold

The small holes at the top of each mold are for overflowing. Luckily they don't fill holes. Instead, you fill the bottom half of the mold to (just below) the fill line and push the top of the mold in, pumping water into the balls. The "bowl" area at the top of the mold is very useful for catching the inevitable overflow when you push it into the bottom of the mold. (Also, while spilled ice cream isn't as attractive as scoops, it's still ice cream.) Note that you'll need to somehow "lock" the…

I love my ice cream balls!

These little balls of ice cream are really cool. First off, from a technical standpoint, a spherical "cube" of ice is best, as it melts much more slowly than regular square-edged ice cubes. This way your drink will be a little cooler and last longer. But science aside, they just look cool. They claim that if you fill them with heated water, they become crystal clear. I haven't tried it, but the slightly cloudy ball doesn't bother me. The only problem with a spherical ice maker is that you have…

Not perfect, but not bad at all.

Here's my experience with these devices after about a week: I use them to make ice out of bottled water. Nice silicone bowls. I have not noticed any bad odors from trays or ice cream being produced. The holes in the top are not intended to fill the bowls, as one might initially expect, but to allow the water to expand and have room to exit. This has its pros and cons. To fill the inner sphere, lift the lower water bowl over half the spheres. Then you press the top cap and this pushes the water…
