Scrap computer and accessories

I bought it a year ago and installed it as a second hard drive. Have minimal consumption. Recently started using it for some small things and it ends up blocking everything that interacts with it. It's also been slower than my regular SSDs since I bought it. If you look for drivers on HP's website, you'll quickly discover that HP doesn't even know this product exists. According to the drivers website they don't make 1TB SSDs, they are limited to 500GB and regular M.2.

Pros
  • I like everything so far
Cons
  • Nothing

Great affordable upgrade

This was a great upgrade for my Dell XPS 13 9350. I had a 512GB Samsung SSD and used this HP SSD to get a total of 1TB of storage for $139 to get! Very easy to install. I used Macrium Reflect to image my original drive, restored it to a new SSD and was back at work half an hour later. I'm sure there are much faster SSDs out there, but they're definitely no slower than the ones I had in my Dell XPS 13 (or at least it doesn't seem like what matters), and now I have 1TB Storage space on SSD! For…

Pros
  • Useful for more than it's intended purpose
Cons
  • Very expensive

75% slower than the legacy Samsung 960 EVO.

I know the specs aren't the best and it's a cheap drive, but be prepared to wait. He's very, very slow. Cloning with dd from the command line on Linux: - Cloning on a 1TB HP EX900 takes 111 minutes - Cloning the same data on a 1TB Samsung 960 EVO takes 28 minutes. And remember that Samsung 960 EVO is a legacy NVME drive. I would not buy again and am considering returning the product. and get something faster.

Pros
  • There's some truth to it
Cons
  • Poor manual

Non-genuine HP product

I bought this product in June 2019. It was working fine until February 2020. One day my computer froze and the drive stopped working. I tried to contact HP for support (3 year warranty) and they told me the product was made by Multipointe. When I call them, the number rings in a full virtual machine mailbox. I hope they reply via email but HP does not endorse this product. Update: Multipointe issued me an RMA. Will update again when I get a replacement. They also don't answer emails. Looks like

Multipoint who is this?

Still worked fine. I've never had an SSD failure. It failed badly with many bad sectors and a bad partition. I would suggest it's HP, a respected well-known manufacturer that offers strong service support and reliability; therefore it is not. The warranty procedure included with the product prevents you from contacting HP support. They don't even mention the fact that Multipointe is responsible for warranty claims. Fortunately, Revain reviewers pointed out the possibility of applying via…
