The fan is fine. However, there is a known issue with the remote control and receiver. The fan/light won't turn on or turns off suddenly even if you try to turn it on from the wall. You can contact the company and they will send a replacement (remote control for an older version of the fan) but professional installation is recommended as the remote control receiver which is located on top of the canopy will also need to be installed. Exactly as advertised. Easy to install once you understand basic electrical safety rules. Make sure your overhead electrical box can support its weight. My office has a tongue and groove wooden ceiling, so it wasn't difficult to mount the fan securely to the ceiling. If you have a drywall ceiling, MAKE SURE the ceiling box can support the weight. I recently bought a 42" low profile Dempsey for my office and really admired it for its very low sound. So I bought this fan for my bedroom as my current ceiling fan was pretty noisy. Pros: This low-profile fan is very quiet, very well made - at least the mechanical parts. Much better than what you buy in HD. The light is soft and the LED bulbs don't get hot, which is nice. All right: the setup is not for the faint of heart. It takes a little thinking and following the instructions.
