Get this sling kit! I even use it to polish katanas!

Great product. Excellent leather quality. Thoroughly wet the leather with the polish, then rub with 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil (I use canola oil) to smooth it out and prevent chipping. This will mirror your edges. If it starts to dry out, just use a little more oil. When this wears out (due to my mistakes in cutting the leather) I will definitely be buying more.

Great leather strap!

This leather lanyard is made of high quality leather and mounted on a hardwood board. It works well for the final stage of honing and sharpening planes and wood chisels like the ones I use. I don't use the green wax peeling paste that came with the strap as it slightly stresses (overstresses) the leather on the strap. I use aluminum oxide which is a great abrasive for leather belts like this. Again, the Hutsul leather belt is of high quality and I highly recommend it. I bought more than one so…

Great for beginner knife sharpeners

Picked up this leather belt after evaluating the growing number of dull knives. Given my recent foray into knife sharpening, this was a purchase to test the water and my own skills. I was deeply impressed with my purchase. After adjusting the blade with a whetstone and getting a certain level of sharpness, I tested this sling and was incredibly impressed with the razor blade installed. No more dropping knives to sharpen or asking friends for help. This got me on the path to DIY knife…

Leather makes a great lanyard useless

I hate to leave a bad review but in this case I have to. Good first. I like the design. The wood is of excellent quality and is completely flat, and the rubber corners make the leash nice and stable; therefore 2 stars. I have a skin problem. I don't know if it's been treated with anything or anything, but all my knives stick to it when I try to thread it. The best way I can describe it is like trying to run a knife over a piece of sticky rubber. I have never had such a feeling from a piece of…

Easy knife sharpening!

This lanyard is very simple and easy to use, the product is of very good quality. When I first tried this I wasn't quite sure how to sharpen my wood carving knives so I googled a YouTube video to see the process. I sharpened my knives and dull blades came back to life! Cuts like butter! The polish is green, you rub it into your skin and the magic happens. Recommended if you need sharp knives. I would also recommend if you are unfamiliar with sling sharpening watch the video. This is very easy…

I am very satisfied with good power tools and hand tools

Andrew the owner of the company contacted me by mail asking for a review. Personal touch is very important to me for example so I think it's fair to reimburse him for his print :D The Hutsul leather strap works great I think. I have used it extensively for sharpening kitchen knives and sharpening planers. The belt unit is large enough to comfortably hold a wide range of paring, chef's and santoku knives without taking up too much space. The skin is tight against the block. I didn't notice how…

GREAT lanyard with ANTI-SLIP / ANTI-SLIP BASE - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I just started carving a few months ago and wanted a sling that would be (1) stable on a flat surface, (2) reliable when carving, and (3) made of quality material. Hutsul Leather Band with Compound Set - WINNER COMPLETELY! I'm not exaggerating. I SHARPEN ALL MY FLEXCUT & DRAKE KNIVES on this belt, even my Felxcut Palm Tool and Mini Draw Knife - no complaints, very happy. The best features are the dimensions of the leather (roughly 3" x 8" if I'm not mistaken), which allows more surface area to…

Sharp is safe - blunt is dangerous!

Sharpening cutting tools takes practice and, like the tools themselves, requires quality sharpening equipment. My hand isn't as good as it used to be, so I've used the Lansky sharpening system to set consistent angles on my blades, but it's not that much. The leather strap for finishing the blade is of great importance. After losing all my tools in a fire, I had to start over. I got the Lansky system back but had to replace my old leather strap. I choose a one-sided band of Hutsul leather…
