I can't get rid of the horrible plastic smell from the mug. After washing with Dawn dish soap and then soaking in lemon juice for a few hours, it still smelled like plastic. I then soaked it in vinegar and baking soda overnight. day ventilated. STILL stinks. So disappointed. I really wanted to like this mug. The size and body seemed ideal for travel. But it stinks.

This is my second bottle of Hydaway and I bought the first with little expectation. Turns out I use it all the time! I travel frequently and this has saved me many times the cost of bottled water at the airport. And unlike the bulky ones, it packs so easily into the small side pocket of my backpack. No TSA questions when empty etc. Highly recommended for travellers! Somehow I lost my original and made a trip without it. Bad idea. So I bought another one!

Purchased for use at our local amusement park to facilitate drinking ice water on roller coasters which does not allow loose objects. Like most parks they offer free ice water but in tiny plastic cups so you have to juggle carrying/holding some cups. Thanks to this bottle, we enjoyed hydration and cooling down while sipping ice water in line. We finished it when it was our turn to ride, folded it up, closed the bag and stuffed it in my fanny pack.

Bought in July for a trip to Europe. 2/3 full at the airport for a drink on board. The found backpack was very wet. Carefully examined, slightly bruised. A drop of water shot out like a net. There was a small hole in the middle. Empty the bottle and wanted to return it after the trip. I left it in my seat cover and forgot about it. So the $45 mug got me a wet backpack. great bottle for air travel, as it is easy to compress but stable when filled. The clip loop on the holdall broke on first use so I wouldn't recommend taking the bag. The premium for the case is quite high, so I was very disappointed with its fragility. Update: After I posted this review, Hydaway sent me a new case. I bought a Hydaway many years ago and I love it. The only drawback was the small size. So I was excited about this new 25 ounce version. Unfortunately, it looks like the company went the corporate route. You create a great product, get great reviews and customer loyalty. Then proceed to lower the cost of all your future products, thinking that for some reason no one will notice. The "old" generation Hydaway bottles had a hard plastic ring on the bottom layer.
