🏕️ RV Skylight - ICON 12117 Review

I have a 2013 Kodiak camper with two skylights. Last year I found that both had cracks in several places and were leaking badly. I replaced them with these skylights and found them much better than the original junk. The originals were made of very brittle plastic, about 1/32 inch thick. They are about 1/8 inch thick and very strong. Installing skylights is tedious, but the finished product is great.

I had to replace the skylight on my 2014 fifth wheel after a recent hailstorm while camping in a state park. I ordered it at the park and it was waiting for me when I got home. I can immediately say that this one is much better than the original. It is very well made and durable. I found an online how-to video on how to replace a skylight that was extremely helpful. I was able to install a new skylight before my next hike and it doesn't leak.

Replaces the old one perfectly. This spring I accidentally stepped on the roof window of my caravan while removing the trailer cover. I assure you I weighed very little on the skylight when I stepped on it, but it was destroyed. Bought this as a replacement. Its plastic is about three times thicker than the original. I guarantee this won't break if I accidentally step on it lightly while removing the trailer cover. Much better than the cheap original.

Good strong and well constructed skylight, the reason for only 3 stars is because I ordered two for my camper in two different sizes and both are smoked but one of the two, the smoky shade, is much darker. I don't know if this is the dealer's fault or the company's fault but I have contacted and am waiting for a response to resolve the issue. Problem but my motorhome has two skylights and wish they matched, just wanted to warn future buyers.
