Installation was very easy. I just installed a cutoff and placed it in the middle of my existing piping. I didn't bother changing the plumbing to the fridge. I just didn't want to take out the fridge. Flush 4 1/2 gallons through the filter as recommended and you are done. The ice cream tasted much better since our water is heavily chlorinated.

All the negative reviews were written by people who can't read instructions or have never worked with water pipes. The install was very easy and blew 4 gallons of water and the ice cream taste and appearance improved. I can recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a water filter in the fridge. This is one of the best filter systems. We bought a filtration system for the sink, then we replaced the ice maker filter. I am very satisfied and both installations were among the easiest. We live in the country and the local water here isn't very good and sometimes we get "boiling warnings" so we've always had some sort of PUR, Brita or some other kind of filter. nothing compares. And we saved more than enough to pay for it by not buying bottled water.

I love this filter! He came with all the necessary parts to make it possible. I read the instructions but made my own using my existing needle valve. I also have a check valve under my sink so I turned that off as well before I started. The way I did it was even easier than using the valve that came with it because it didn't fit my copper pipe fitting, so I used one of the 1/4 adapters that came with my copper pipe.
