Works great so far

Works great so far. I was surprised that there was almost no lag when switching on and off, hopefully headlights off the road wouldn't be an issue. In my experience, these sensors typically take about a minute before turning on or off. However, I would like to point out that my sensor was clearly swapped. The package was opened and sealed with tape, and all the details inside rang.

Pros
  • Over 10,000 power cycles
Cons
  • old

Read instructions

The product has been connected and installed. However, it didn't seem to work. I was confused. I ended up calling the Intermatic service center and speaking to a technician. He advised me to make sure the power and load wires were actually connected properly. So I swapped these two wires and everything worked fine! Couldn't be happier. The old light barrier and the new Intermatic EK4236S would have worked right away if I had read and followed the instructions. As I said, I am very satisfied…

Pros
  • Conformal coated circuit board
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Perfect replacement

I installed this to replace an almost identical failed sensor. The previous part lasted 7 years. It's the LED spotlight. Easy to install and connect, especially since I replaced a similar part. I was impressed by the sensitivity of the photocell. By covering my eye with my thumb, I let enough light into the lens that it didn't work. With a wide piece of tape I covered my eyes completely and I could see the switch working correctly several times. There was no interference from the headlight to…

Pros
  • Drift Free Silicon Light Sensor with IR Filter
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance

I bought this sensor for a home spotlight to be installed under the eaves of the house. The sensor must be installed with the wires up. The instructions say in bold not to do this. On the sales page, he didn't mention this tidbit. I will call the company on Monday to see what options are available. Customer service claims if you install it with the wires up, condensation will form, drip onto the wires, and burn. From the block. I will definitely try it and see how long it lasts. Only 2 stars…

Pros
  • Ideal for single or multiple HID and LED installations (up to 1650W @ 277VAC)
Cons
  • Vanishing Light
